THE NEXT BIG THING
Right here at the heart of ‘HITS’ magazine, in Central London
it’s The First Official magazine interview with the next big star, Michael Moore.
Get an exclusive inside look at his everyday life, find out everything you need
to know about him and how his whole music career has taken off. Also, find out
how to be one of the first to purchase his upcoming single “Touched”.
First of all, I have to say, you look very
dashing in that navy suit and brown suede boots - very smart. You have such a
great style! So, Michael most of the world has gotten to know you over the past
month with your music topping the charts in over 50 countries. Everyone is
loving and talking about you, including myself! Plus, you have gained over
1.5million followers on Twitter; you must be over the moon right?!
Aw thank you! I had to make an effort for my first official
interview. But I must admit that I can’t believe it all happened so quickly and
I feel like the luckiest person to have such an amazing opportunity to share my
music with the world. And the fact that I have achieved this much success at
the age of 17, makes me even more ambitious and motivated for the future years.
Describe a typical day in the life of Michael Moore.
Well, I still attend college 3 days a week. I drive myself to
college most days – I have only had my license for about 4 months which is
exciting and gives me a lot more freedom. After college I’d usually hang out
with friends and would work on weekends but I quit my job to focus on my music
career. Most people would expect my life to be all that glamorous but it really isn’t, well not yet. I also love to exercise and keep fit! I do spend
some of my free time trying to respond to as many of my fans as I can on Twitter,
Facebook and Instagram.
How did
you first become interested in music?
I first became interested in music… well I can’t remember,
probably ever since a young age. Everyone remembers me, even as a baby I loved
to listen to music. I also started playing musical instruments like the piano,
recorder, keyboard and especially the guitar all at the age of 7/8. I guess I
just got the hang of playing instruments really easily.
Why did you
name your new single that’s waiting to be released, “Touched” and what is it
about?
I wrote this song and gave it this title because there are
some amazing people in my life who influence how I create my music and what my
music is about, but also this song is aimed at every single one of my fans. I
am just so shocked at how they all support me so much and I love them all so much
for that!!
Why did
you choose to produce R&B music?
I think it reflects my personality and feelings and many
people can relate to it – I have a very broad audience. Most of the teenage /
adult population is listening to this genre of music and I just want to reach
out to as many people as possible. My amazing record label helped me to produce
my music and they used several production processes. I would not be able to do
this without them and I am extremely grateful that they signed me.
What live performance experience do you have?
I started off with performing at local clubs and bars when I
was 16, but I will be going on my world tour next year, once I’ve finished
college. It will be taking place in 15 countries, which is very exciting - I can’t
wait!
How would you describe your music to someone
who’s never heard it?
I would describe it as music which is very modern and up to
date with the latest trends and fashions, it is also music which is kind of
addictive, you want to listen to it over and over again – it’s very unique and
creates a positive vibe.
What are your immediate music and life goals?
To complete my world tour and produce tracks with major
artists, maybe even perform with them! My dream concert would be to perform
with Rihanna or Chris Brown; it would be a huge achievement for me to get this
opportunity. I also want to donate money to third world charities of and in a few
years’ time I’m definitely moving to Beverly Hills in L.A, for good! It has
been one of my biggest dreams ever since I was little – I am obsessed with that
place! It just has a really good vibe to it like the palm trees, hot weather
all year round, and beaches, sunshine, amazing houses, cars, hot girls and the
list goes on.
Do you think of yourself as a role model?
I feel I convey a positive image of a 17-year-old male
teenager which many people can aspire and relate to; just because I am now
famous it doesn’t mean that I am a different person who looks down on their
fans – no… I feel like I am on the same level as them and we have a lot in
common, I love all of my fans - without them I wouldn’t be here, but I do hope
my attitude towards success does influence them and their decisions in life.
What advice would you give to young talented
musicians like yourself?
Firstly you should believe in yourself and be confident. You
have to be motivated and always work to your full potential and have a positive
attitude – never give up!
Well, thank you for your time and doing this interview
and I hope to see you continuing to hit the top of the charts with your new
single Touched.
It’s been my
pleasure, I do too! And I hope that my fans got to know me a bit better through
this, I love you all.
